Hi Beverly, Heres the Dr. Oz Blueberry Avocado Breakfast Smoothie recipe you requested.  Its super healthy with all the antioxidants in the blueberries and the healthy fats from the avocado!  Enjoy!

Makes 3 servings

  • 1 cup frozen wild blueberries
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 5 oz low-fat plain yogurt
  • 1/2 of a lime’s zest and juice
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar (I use Coconut Secret)
  • 2 tbsp almond paste
  • 5 oz plain low-fat yogurt
  • 2 oz low-fat milk

Garnish: crushed pink peppercorns and chopped mint

Cut avocado into halves and remove pit. Spoon avocado meat from the skin and put it into a blender.

Purée yogurt, lime zest and juice and 2 tbsp of brown sugar. Pour into 3 glasses.

Purée almond paste, remaining sugar, yogurt and wild blueberries and blend until smooth.

Slowly add Wild Blueberry mixture to the glasses so the layers are distinct. Garnish with pink peppercorns and mint. Serve with a stirring stick.

I thought green smoothies were about fruit and green vegetables
not dairy product
Ever heard of water!

Dont get your panties in a crinkle. Somebody requested this Dr. Oz recipe and I simply provided it. There are many different schools of thought on what a green smoothie is, however, keep in mind Dr. Oz labeled this a Blueberry Avocado Smoothie, not a green smoothie. If you dont like dairy products (and I stay away from them most of the time too), then dont drink this smoothie, or simply alter it to your tastes. This blog is mostly about helping people find a way of clean eating that suits them, rather than one specific modality of eating.

I am not one for milk or sugar. I would substitute Raw coconut water, which is the only coconut water Ill touch. I would add coconut syrup or maple syrup for the sugar.
Personally I love pureed avacado soup. So, this is something I might try.
Thanks for sharing.
